North of Fortitude are a four-piece band from Ireland’s Mid-West. They officially formed in 2019, however, the members had played together in different groups and on a more casual basis for many years previously.
Lead vocalist Ronan Murphy is primarily influenced by electronic, dance, soul and RnB music, while Rick O’Sullivan, guitarist and backing vocalist, grew up on the alternative rock of the 90s as well as classic rock and hip hop. The very talented bassist Mario Lucic and equally talented Drummer Rory McNamara push the group in a very experimental and positive direction. Mario started in 90s with Punk and Hard Core and continued with Classic Rock, Funky, Rhythm and Blues. Rory has his roots in classic and hard rock. These eclectic influences are represented in the group’s sound which aims towards a fusion of genres with a focus on strong song-writing.
North of Fortitude have an explosive chemistry. They now have the pleasure of capturing that energy in the studio and bringing it to the stage. ❤
