Pilar Pimenta writes from the heart, for the heart, simply listening to the emerging artist feels like a conversation between a friend and a listener. Her intimate, reflective and confronting lyrics and catchy, soothing melodies are embraced by 90s indie folk pop combined with modern alternative singer-songwriter pop making you feel understood, comforted and left with an aftertaste of bittersweet.
Originating from Portugal, Pilar grew up in Australia, Italy, Scotland and now Germany. Her music reflects her worldly and rollercoaster childhood, capturing feelings of saudade, home, nostalgia and the contrast and conflict of growing up through stories of love, relationships/connections and self-exploration.
One of her strongest suits is playing live, having played all around Berlin and adapting well to any stage; solo, in a trio, a full band or even accompanied by strings. Pilar Pimenta’s versatile, powerful yet sweet voice is backed by her engaging and cheeky performance style, truly pulling any audience into her world.
The 22 year-old began her musical career in 2021, with singles, ‘Blu’, ‘Clouds’ and ‘Catch Your Breath’. And the following year, ‘Reality's Ways’, part of the BIMM Berlin Album 2022, produced by Grammy nominated producer Pete Smith and Fabio Buemi, became her most popular song.
With her debut EP, ‘Are We There Yet?’, released in spring 2025, the first two singles, ‘Golden’ and ‘Something Great’ demonstrate Pilar’s versatility. Upbeat, ethereal anthems and hauntingly beautiful ballads, her stories always leave listeners heart-clenched or heart-wrenched.
