Max Serratosa (A.K.A Geisterbeschwörer) was born in 1988 in a small city between the woods and the mountains in the south of Spain. He grew up in the countryside very interested in nature and music.
In his teens, he played in several bands as Eclypse, Oscuro Stigma, Somnolencia and Delirium, where he met “Chema”, the bassist, and started to think about black metal bands. Them together wanted to create a project called Hraesvelgr. Suddenly it never happened, but that project introduced Geisterbeschwörer into the black metal.
●▬▬▬✠ Dunkles Gebet ✠▬▬▬●
After two years, Geisterbeschwörer had to move to Germany to continue his studies, so he left Delirium and started a new life. He lived in a dark cellar with a cheap guitar and his computer. After some time, he composed in the middle of the night after some nightmares his first black metal song: Der Geist. Very influenced in that time by the Norwegian black metal, such as Burzum , Mayhem, Carpathian Forest… He began to compose almost daily.
When he traveled back to Spain, he began to record his compositions and after a couple of weeks he had some tracks recorded and uploaded to the internet under the pseudonym Naamath and the band Dunkles Gebet. Then he was contacted by Nexus Innspillinger and in 2008 released his first demo with three tracks: Götterdämerung, Der Geist and Im Shatten der Wölfe. In the same year he released a split with the Colombian band ANG.
In that time, Dunkles Gebet become a mainstream in the internet, with a constant and persistent attack from other webpages and bands.
In 2009 recorded a split again, this time with the Andalusian band Kjaftur, from Seville.
Then it was time to close the project. Without support from anyone Dunkles Gebet was dead. (There is a last release. A compilation 12’ LP released by Veneno Negro in March 2019)
●▬▬▬✠ Aura ABM & Barbatos Prods ✠▬▬▬●
After close the project he helped in the keyboard in a band called Fri Sjel (Epic Folk Metal Band), but it didn’t take long because of the differences between the musicians, so he started a new project called Aura, an atmospheric and depressive band. In 2012 released “Lake of Despair” with the Hungarian label RottenCrowz Prod. In 2013 released “Rain”, an atmospheric instrumental digital album for free download. Its last track was “A cloud over a mountain”, recorded in march 2013 and posted on youtube in 2014. It was the end of Aura.
But Geisterbeschwörer never left the music. In June 2014 he began to promote other bands with his label “Barbatos Prods”, releasing Pro CD-r and merchandise for the bands. In his roster he had bands like EDENKAISER, Mau Vraue, Lucifuego, Crux Ex Official, Misas Negras... It was a good time where he contacted lots of people and bands and grew up his interest in black metal.
During this time, he also had a project called Withered Flowers, a dark ambient one-man band influenced specially by Moevot but, in fact, for the whole Les Legions Noires circle.
●▬▬▬✠ Hexenkunst ✠▬▬▬●
Geisterbeschwörer was in continue contact with the Andalusian circle O.T.O. (Ordo Tenebris Odium) since he played in Dunkles Gebet. There he had good friends and musicians always experimenting with the music and black metal. Some of the most known bands in the circle could be Caacrinolaas, Werther, Mau Vraue, Tenebris Terra, Sigillvm…
It was in the year 2015, when a good friend from O.T.O., Astral Wamphyre, who had the band Wamphyre (Actually Lúgubre Ruina) met Geisterbeschwörer in his hometown and played together in his Studio, recording the song that will initiate Geisterbeschwörer last project: Prophecy by Hexenkunst.
With Hexenkunst, Geisterbeschwörer wanted to imbue all his knowledge about occultism and black metal. It took about 4 years (He had to leave Ronda and move to Javea, in the valencian country) to record it first full album: “Praising the heathen chants in the name of winter” with the help of Astral Wamphyre in some drums and lyrics and vocals in “Ritual of Vampiryc Bloodlust”. This Album had a good reception from the old fans and the new ones. In February 2020 it was released in a 100 limited units Pro CD-r by Veneno Negro Records.
Geisterbeschwörer keep on working in Hexenkunst and actually is also helping in vocals and lyrics in HateHordes (Official).
